This is an instructional guide detailing troubleshooting tips to dismiss the E6 Error Code.
The E6 Error Code has been implemented to indicate when the Portable Control Unit (PCU) senses that there is no water pressure when the pump is running and the heater is ON.
In the event of a blockage (airlock in the system, intake is blocked, filter is too dirty, etc), the PCU will trigger an E6 error. All functions will be disabled to prevent any damage that could result from the heater running without proper water flow.
Anytime an error code appears first perform the PCU RESET by plugging in the GFCI then press the TEST BUTTON on the GFCI - wait 5 seconds -then press the RESET BUTTON.
If the error code returns then you will need to follow the corrective steps for that code.
Make sure all THREE threaded plastic caps have been removed from the ports on the inside of the tub |
Ensure that the spa is on level ground. If not, the weight of the water will not be dispersed evenly around the spa Indicator: Liner pulling down into the tub on one side. |
Check the Intake (x2) and Discharge Ports for any obstructions in the openings (i.e. leaves, twigs, etc) |
Check that the connector hoses are straight and level (should resemble the photo below)
|
Check that the connector hoses are not kinked or twisted (see below) Unzip the liner and check inside to see if the hoses are kinked (reach inside to feel if the end of the hose is not visible). When tightening connector hoses, turn the black split-nut threads on the ends instead of the tubing. |
Check the filter. We recommend cleaning the filter regularly and inserting a new filter every 2-4 weeks
It would be a good idea to change your filter sooner if you use the spa frequently.Simply cleaning and reusing the same filter will not suffice. New filters can be purchased directly or through our retailers.*

Make sure that the spa water reaches the minimum water level lines |
Purge air from the PCU to remove an air lock by following these steps:
1. Turn OFF or unplug the unit. 2. Unscrew the air purge valve (flower-shaped knob) counter-clockwise. You should hear a hissing sound then see water come out. 3. Bleed filter housing until water escapes and no more air, tighten back up. 4. Turn on Filter mode and check for circulation at discharge port in tub. |
After completing the steps above, press the Filter button and check for flow coming out at the Discharge Port (highest port on the PCU side of the tub). If you can feel flow at the Discharge Port, press the Heat button and monitor the spa.
